Common Questions
Victoria has a fast-track approval process for secondary dwellings that may allow construction without full council approval. Requirements vary by location — we can advise on what applies to your site during consultation.
Smaller studio cabins typically reach lock-up stage in 3–5 days on a prepared foundation. Larger one-bedroom cabins take 7–10 days. Additional time is required for internal fit-out depending on your chosen delivery pathway.
All cabins are constructed from visually graded Nordic Spruce, sourced from FSC-certified forests in Northern Europe. Wall thickness ranges from 45mm mass timber to 93mm insulated panels depending on the model, providing natural insulation, breathability, and a warm aesthetic.

In most cases, yes — a building permit is required for a habitable structure in Victoria. However, the process is well-established and our team will guide you through it. Some smaller structures may qualify for exemptions under the Building Regulations 2018. We'll assess your site and advise on exactly what's required before you commit.
Yes. All construction is carried out by our registered building partner A40 Construction & Maintenance Group, holding Victorian Building Authority (VBA) registration CDB-U 58366. This means your project meets all VBA requirements and you're protected under the Domestic Building Contracts Act.
In Victoria, a secondary dwelling (granny flat) must generally not exceed 60m² of gross floor area. Our studio and smaller one-bedroom models are designed with this limit in mind. Larger cabins may still be permissible depending on your zone — we'll advise during consultation.
Yes. Our larger models — particularly the Sprucera, Ecovista, and Sprucescape — are well-suited for use as a granny flat or secondary dwelling, subject to planning and building approvals. Victoria's planning framework allows secondary dwellings on most residential properties. We'll advise on what applies to your specific site and suburb during consultation.
